This piece has a little background story. Painted originally as an abstract heart in deep pinks and reds, the piece was too literal and lacked a true feeling of emotion. It was a stagnant heart, a bit of a failure. After looking at it my my studio for many months, I decided to re-work it into a more complex piece, toning down all the pink, red and black with a marble white/platinum grey/lilac, with faint hints of palest pink, set in a background of floating bits of real 18KT gold leaf embedded in the texture of the painting. Very light-catching and ethereal piece with a dreamy and atmospheric minimalist style. Framed six is approximately 14.5" w x 23.5" t. Signed dated lower right 2017.
