T.N.S. Savannah

Michael Horvath

Considered probably the fastest ship in the Texas Navy, it also packed a punch. While small, its quick speed, heavy guns and determined crew made it one of the best blockade runners in the Texas Navy. The Mexicans were constantly frustrated by the ship and had nicknamed it the ghost with it's unique ability to somehow hide in the open sea. However, there were two instances that showed how deadly the ship could be when confronted. In each instance, a Mexican sloop maneuvered the Savannah into a position where it could not flee. In each instance, the ship unleashed an unrelenting barrage on the enemy that sent the enemy to it's grave.
